Edward Eichelís ground-breaking research on sexual compatibility Ė the Coital Alignment Technique (CAT) Ė has been published in Medical Sexology: The Third International Congress (of the World Association for Sexology, 1980); Elements of Sex Counseling & Therapy (A. Peluso, Piovan Editore, Italy); The Journal of Sex & Marital Therapy, (Summer 1988), Medical Tribune (German edition, January 27, 1989); The Perfect Fit, (Penguin USA, 1993). The Perfect Fit was translated and published in Spain "The Coital Alignment Technique (CAT): An overview of Studies" (Aaron P. Pierce, 2000) was published in The Journal of Sex & Marital Therapy; "Orgasm Defined by the C.A.T. Research" was published in Sexuality in the New Millennium: Proceedings of the 14th World Congress of Sexology, Hong Kong, 1999 (Edited by Ng EML et al., 2000, Editrici Compositori).

Edward Eichelís research has been featured widely in the media, including TV: The Donahue Show, Fox Five News, Real Personal, and print media: Cosmopolitan,Essence, GQ, Redbook, Self, Womanís Own, Menís Fitness, Menís Health, Menís Journal, New York Times, Washington Post, Philadelphia Inquirer, Hartford Courant, etc. Feature articles on CAT have appeared widely in the popular media abroad, in Israel,Brazil,Germany,Finland England,Italy, etc.

In the late Ď60s, Edward Eichel began an innovative psychotherapy practice with couples and commenced his research on sexual compatibility. Eichel received his Masterís Degree in the Human Sexuality, Marriage and Family Life Program at New York University in 1984. He has been a health educator in the CUNY (University of New York) system, Director of Health Education at the Boys Club of America (Flushing, Queens), and counselor on the New York City Department AIDS hotline. He was on the founding Board of Directors of the National Expressive Therapy Association Medical University of the Americas awarded Edward W. Eichel a Doctor of Humane Letters (Honoris Causa) degree in 2003.

Eichel was invited faculty at the Meeting of the American Academy of Clinical Sexologists in 1995. He has been a presenter at local and national conferences of the Society for the Scientific Study of Sex, and of the American Association of Sex Educators, Counselors and Therapists (AASECT). Edward Eichel is listed in the International Whoís Who in Sexology, and in Whose Who in Medicine and Health Care
